Raney’s classes are fun, low key, very informative and helpful – no matter your current level or medium. Raney works in pastel, watercolor, oil and acrylic and is equally adept at them all. Her style is abstract to the representational. The diversity of her talent and natural teaching ability make your class time an exceptional value and the mountain scenery creates a beautiful surrounding in which to work.
Rogers majored in art at East Carolina University and studied under internationally know artists such as Daniel Greene, Robert Bateman, Charles Frace, Heiner Hertling, Sallie Middleton and more. She is an award winning artist whose work is in private and corporate collections throughout the world. She has traveled abroad as well as within North America to paint plein air and experience new places. Raney is a member of the Watercolor Society of North Carolina and the North Carolina Wildlife Artist Society. She has owned the Acorn Gallery in West Jefferson since 1994, the first art gallery in what is now known as the “Arts District”.
